Bledsoe County, located in lower east Tennessee in what is known as Sequatchie Valley, but with some lands on both the Walden's Ridge and the Cumberland Plateau. The county was created in 1807 and named for Anthony Bledsoe. Much of this material comes from the very early North Carolina Records of land transactions with Stokley Donaldson, surveyor for the State of North Carolina during the Colonial period.
