Crockett County, Tennessee Marriage Records, 1884-1886

$13.50

Crockett County was established in 1871 in the western part of Tennessee with Alamo as the county seat. The original index primarily of the brides and grooms is shown as well as an additional full name index which include the officials and bondsmen. These records were copied by the Works Progress Administration which was a part of the New Deal program established by the Roosevelt administration to bring the country out of the great depression. Local persons were hired to copy these records in the court house, then type the records, and store them at the Tennessee State Archives.
