Hawkins County, Tennessee Compendium, 1786-1900

Hawkins County is one of the older counties in the State of Tennessee and at the time of creation the boundaries extended from the Virginia line to the Georgia line. Georgia at this time claimed north to North Chickamauga Creek, but the line was later moved a few miles south of this. In this volume are the names and date of the entry with a reference as to where this little tidbit was found in the vast store of date available. It is, primarily, information prior to 1800, but we did include children who were bound out and these extend into the twentieth century.
