The Reverend Daniel Hoge Carr's Journal of his activities in southwestern Virginia is found transcribed here. He served churches in Tazewell and Washington Counties during his ministry that is found in this Journal. In these pages, we get a day by day listing of his activities as well as his listing of those baptized, married, buried and received into membership in the various churches that he served during these six years. The little volume was found and remains in First United Methodist Church in Bluefield, Virginia which was one of his churches at the time. Dr. Carr served as a minister in Holston Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South from 1867 until his death in 1927. Dr. Carr served the Methodist churches of East Tazewell and Liberty Hill from 1881-1885.
