Nansemond County, Virginia, located on the coast, was created in 1642/3 but was merged with Suffolk, Virginia in 1974. This 1810 tax list replaces the information that would have been found in the 1810 census which is not available. This 1815 tax list is the earliest one available for Nansemond in its complete form.
