Index to Wills of Charleston County, South Carolina, 1671-1868

The only probate court in South Carolina was located in Charleston until 1782. It can be said, then, that with few exceptions, all wills recorded in South Carolina prior to 1782 are covered by this index, which contains upwards of 10,000 names of testators with the identifying page number and volume of the original record.
