Wythe County, Virginia 1800 Personal Property Tax List and Abstracts of Deed Book B [1796-1800]

The original plans for this book did not include abstracts of deeds. They have been included to help establish places of residence of the taxpayers. Since the 1800 Census of Virginia was destroyed, the Personal Property Tax Lists have taken on increased value. A study of these lists compared to the 1820 Census shows that most of the heads of households listed in the census are also listed in the tax lists.
