Second Auditor Inventory

Transfers of records from the office of the Second Auditor of Virginia to the State Library began soon after the office was abolished in the reorganization of the state government in 1928.  to date, 613 volumes and more than 72,000 manuscripts, covering the period 1778-1952, have been deposited.  These include general correspondence, journals, stock ledgers, bond transfer books, warrant books, registers, and letter books.
