(9 products)Claiborne County, located in upper east Tennessee along the Kentucky border, was created on October 29, 1801 from portions of Grainger and Hawkins counties. This county was named for a Virginia tidewater aristocrat William C. C. Claiborne, one of the first judges of the Tennessee Superior Court and one of the first representatives from Tennessee to the United States Congress.
